Solder Soldiers v2.0 Exhibition
14th to the 26th June 2010

Bathysphere took over the gallery space at Fabrika for a two week exhibition of DIY electronic sound art, installations and hardware hacked instrumentation from 14th to the 26th June 2010 and invited me to exhibit some of my instruments. There were buttons to press, knobs to turn, strange and bizarre sounds to be heard.

A short clip of The Ghetto Bastard at the Regents Club in Leicester March 2010. Some light relief between bands.

This is a performance of "You play Together But Act Apart" at The "More Wounded Furniture" event on 27th March 2010 at Phoenix Square, Leicester, UK.

This was originally written for the Dirty Electronics Ensemble Christmas Concert in 2009. The performance was held in PACE Studio1 at De Montfort University, Leicester, UK. This piece mirrors the world of communication though language and technology old and new. Inspired by the incessant chatter, noise and interference in modern society and the geographical move of western populations to the big city it deals with the loss of old communities and the rise of new networks. We record, we repeat, we share yet we somehow face the other way. It is like dipping your head in to a communication hub through a time machine. It is intended to be played on four cassette language machines.

The Dirty Electronics Ensemble -
Aus den sieben Tagen

5th November 2008, PACE Studio 1, De Montfort University, Leicester, UK.

The Dirty Electronics Ensemble, with myself on the left with the Ghetto Bastard, directed by John Richards and Simon Emmerson perform a special version of pieces from Stockhausens Aus den sieben Tagen.

This is an early test of my extended version of Laurie Andersons Tape Bow Violin.

The intention of this performance of my Electromagnetic Wands was to take myself out of the comfort zone that we, as artists, normally occupy. I wanted to play at a traditional gig that features traditional bands and structure (e.g. Guitars, drums, bass, a singer, a headliner, merch stand, catchy tunes, rock and roll). I wanted to perform somehwere where I felt I may be appreciated but also somewhere where this kind of performance would not usually be seen.

I have included the whole performance from start to end to demonstrate elements and features that an artist would not normally experience in the controlled environment of a studio perofrmance or concert series. Such as the audience talking and trips to the bar and toilet.
